WHO IS LIL PUMP

Lil Pump, born Gazzy Garcia in Miami, Florida on August 17th, 2000 is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and the culprit behind the “Gucci Gang” plague.

Despite being too flamboyant, he is one of the rarer artists who have shared just enough personal information about themselves.

Garcia had a lot of problems during his school years, being kicked out of numerous different schools for fighting and in one case inciting a riot. At thirteen, Pump’s cousin introduced him to Smokepurpp.

Together they started music in which they would upload to Soundcloud. Lil Pump’s first self titled single, produced by Smokepurpp, was released in 2016 and amassed over 3 million streams, which would be matched by his next 4 singles.

In 2017 he released the singles, “Boss” and “D Rose” that accumulated over 70M streams together.

The success was so great that Lyrical Lemonade had to produce a music video for “D Rose”. Before the release of his debut album, the immensely popular single “Gucci Gang” was released, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became certified four times platinum.

His fame began to rise even further after that, and he soon collaborated in a variety of songs including “I Love It” with Kanye West, and “Arms Around You” with Swae Lee and others.

To date, Pump has released two studio albums, both certified gold, making him currently one of the most successful Soundcloud rappers.
