WHO IS DABABY

DABABY BIOGRAPHY

Jonathan Lyndale Kirk or more simply known as DaBaby, was born on December 22nd 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio but later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. DaBaby initially did not show any interest in making music at a young age and spent most of his teens in trouble with the law.

In his early 20’s, he had a change of heart and started focusing on music. During his rise to mainstream prominence between 2014 and 2018, DaBaby released a total of 13 mixtapes. As you probably guessed, his hard work would soon pay off, signing a seven-figure deal with Interscope and releasing his first studio album, “Baby on Baby”.

The album was a major success debuting at 25th on the Billboard 200, with the lead single, “Suge”, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and receiving two Grammy nominations. Later that same year DaBaby released his second album “Kirk”, in homage to his late father who passed shortly after the release of his first album.

The album debuted at number one with the lead single, “Intro”, peaking at number 13. DaBaby would close off the year with a total of 22 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, more than any other artist in 2019. In 2020 DaBaby released his second number one album, “Blame it on Baby”, with the single “Rockstar” spending seven non-consecutive weeks at number one. We can only expect more to come from him, especially after showcasing his versatility as a feature artist in Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”.
