WHO IS CHRIS BROWN

Born in the oldest town in Essex County called Tappahannock May 5, 1989, Brown had already spent his childhood singing - participating in church choir and local talent shows, his mind was likely already made up on becoming a singer even though his family weren’t virtuosos, with a daycare center director mom Joyce Hawkins and corrections officer dad Clinton Brown.

His stardom begins at 13, being discovered by a record label called Hitmission Records. He later wows an A&R executive in Island Def Jam Recordings, his soon to be manager who promotes him to other record labels.

He chose Jive Records for its great success with younger artists in the industry. After the release of his self-titled album, he’d already become commercially successful, selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. and debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200.

Besides his debut single “Run It” being his longest running no.1 hit song, his singing career flourished while collaborating with other big artists and rappers at the time, while also acting in several films and television series.

Aside from singing and acting skills, he’s well-known for busting sweet moves! Akin to Usher, Brown has made a name for himself as one of the young heartthrobs of RnB, being an all-in-one package in the music industry.

His infamous domestic violence charge involving his ex-girlfriend Rhianna only bruises his career for a while, as he comes back with several albums, and his popularity grows back with “I Can Transform Ya” ranking 52nd in the Billboard Top 100, “Deuces” debuting at no. 72 on the Hot RnB/Hip-Hop Songs chart, “Turn Up The Music” getting certified double platinum by the ARIA, and other hits.
