WHO IS FABOLOUS
John David Jackson, better known as Fabolous, was born November 18th 1977 in Brooklyn, New York. Fabolous, the misspelling unintentional as he made a mistake during a freestyle, started rapping in high school and rapped live on Hot 97, impressing the radio shows music executive DJ Clue and was then signed to his record label.
In 2001, Jackson released his debut studio album, “Ghetto Fabolous”, which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 with the album singles, “Can’t Deny It” and “Young’n (Holla Back)”, both making it in the top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100. Two years later Fabolous would release his follow up album, “Street Dreams”, which would contain his two highest charting singles, “Can’t Let You Go” and “Into You”, which both peaked at #4.
Fabolous would go on to release five more studio albums over a fifteen year period including his highest charting album, “Loso’s Way”, peaking at number one. Jackson would receive a respectful amount of accolades throughout his career, including two Grammy nominations, one in 2005 for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Dip it Low” with Cristina Millian and in 2010 for Best Rap Performance in a Duo of Group for “Money Goes, Honey Starts” with Jay-Z.
