WHO IS KID INK

Brian Todd Collins or better known as Kid Ink was born on April 1st 1986 in Los Angeles, California. Collins started out producing music during after school music classes, securing his first production credit in 2008 for the late Nipsey Hussle.

The release of his first mixtape under the name Rockstar caught the attention of DJ Ill Will who signed him to Tha Alumni Group Label, where he adopted the name Kid Ink due to a clash of names with labelmate DJ Rockstar.

After his appearance on the XXL Freshman Class of 2012 he released his first studio album, “Up & Away”, peaking at number 20 on the Billboard 200.

His follow up album, “My Own Lane”, would prove to be his most successful hosting his most successful single, “Show Me”, featuring Chris Brown. It peaked at number 3 on the charts. Kid Ink is also a self confessed tattoo addict, getting his first tattoo at age 16, but now has over 100 covering his back, torso, arms, hands and face, hence his stage name.

Sometime around 2015, Kid Ink launched a clothing line called, “Tha Alumni Clothing”, which can be found online and is pleasantly affordable (appropriate for the current situation, they have masks available as well).

The last we’ve heard from him was in 2017, with the release of his EP, “7 Series”.
