WHO IS KELLY ROLAND

Next up on our thread is another talented and lovely Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland who has not only made a name for herself as a singer, but also as an actress and television personality.

Kelly Rowland was born on 11th February in 1981, making her an opportunist Aquarius. This is evident in the fact that she, along with Beyonce Knowles; LeToya Luckett; and LaTavia Roberson formed a girl group barely as teens, called “Girl’s Tyme”, before becoming Destiny’s Child under Columbia Records.

At an early age, Kelly and the group were *destined* for fame. Years later, the group temporarily split up to each go solo, and Kelly got herself a Grammy Award right away with Nelly for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002 with the single, “Dilemma”.

A few months after this major success, Kelly released her debut solo album. “Simply Deep”. It reached #12 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

She has also swept fans off their feet with a dance-pop collaboration with David Guetta, “When Love Takes Over”, which topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and the UK Dance (OCC), among other charts.

In total, she has released four studio albums to date. In light of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy, Kelly and the Knowles family started the Survivor Foundation to provide housing for the victims in 2005.
