WHO IS POST MALONE
This time, we’ll show some appreciation for the genius who brought us, “Congratulations”; “Rockstar”; “Sunflower”; and more. Post Malone was born Austin Richard Post in New York, on Independence Day in 1995.
He was raised by his dad, Rich Post, along with his stepmother Jodie. Rich used to be a DJ in his early years, and evidently, his musical background has influenced Austin’s career path. Post Malone joined a few other producers in forming BLCKVRD, which is surprisingly a metal band.
He also met producers outside of the group, one of which was Rex Kudo, who has worked with Austin on several tracks including, “White Iverson”. “White Iverson” has earned him praise from other R&B/Hip-Hop artists and a contract with Republic Records.
He released his debut studio album, “Stoney”, in 2016. The album contained singles that hit the charts such as, “Congratulations”; “Go Flex”; and even “White Iverson”.
Thanks to the success of its well-produced tracks, “Stoney” was certified 4x Platinum by Music Canada and 3x Platinum by the RIAA, as well as earning the #1 spot on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
In 2018 he released his second album, “Beerbongs & Bentleys”, which broke Michael Jackson’s record for spending the most weeks on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It even debuted #1 on the Billboard 200.
Out of 152 award nominations, Post Malone won 30 including three American Music Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards.
