WHO IS FETTY WAP

Willie Junior Maxwell II, better known by his stage name, Fetty Wap, was born on June 7th 1991 in Paterson, New Jersey. Maxwell was born with glaucoma in both eyes and the doctors struggled to save his left eye, fitting him with an ocular prosthesis.

It gave him his unique look we have all come to know. Fetty Wap started rapping in 2013 and one year later he released his breakout hit “Trap Queen”, which after a slow initial response, would peak at number two on Billboard’s Hot 100 and became certified platinum.

This obviously gained him a lot of attention, receiving a major record label and a spot on XXL’s 2015 Freshman Class. He then released two more top 10 hits, “679” and “My Way”, the latter getting remixed by Drake.

Maxwell would go on to match records set by legends in the game, he became the first male rapper to have three songs in the top 20 since Eminem and the first male rapper to have concurrent singles reach the top 10 of the same chart since Lil Wayne.

Fetty Wap released his debut self-titled studio album which debuted at number one. Fetty Wap was like, “Hey what’s up hello” then has been pretty quiet on the music front, having left the chat after releasing only a handful of singles.

This is most likely due to a string of legal issues, from getting a lawsuit for his breakout hit to being under multiple arrests from property damage and assault. The fans are nonetheless missing him.
