Up next on the list of influential rappers, we have Travis Scott, who also happens to believe there’s a bird within the best of us.

The award-winning hip-hop artist was born in Houston, Texas on April 30, 1992 as Jacques Berman Webster II.

He grew up living with his grandmother in crime-ridden South Park, so seeing the state a lot of people were in motivated Travis to ‘get the hell out of there’.

His music career began with small projects with his friends, but it was after the seemingly unending cycle of having to move residences that it started really picking up.

Upon hearing one of his works, T.I. asked to meet with him where Travis would then freestyle over one of his tracks. His first studio album was released under Grand Hustle Records in 2015, namely, “Rodeo”.

It peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and received platinum certification from the RIAA. “Antidote”, the second single supporting the album, won the People’s Champ Award at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2016.

He has currently released four studio albums, two collaborative albums and two mixtapes altogether.

His production style plays a part in his claim to fame, as fans and critics would describe it as a “mix between traditional hip-hop and lo-fi”.

Outside of the music world, Travis has just recently teamed up with PlayStation to promote the new console, releasing unique merchandise items and having uploaded an unboxing video on YouTube.
