WHO IS LUDACRIS

Ludacris has told the US Magazine once that he raps in his sleep when he’s exhausted, but what other fun fact has he shared about himself throughout his career? Let’s find out. Starting with the basics, Ludacris was born on September 11, 1977 in Champaign, Illinois to Roberta Shields and Wayne Brian Bridges.

His real name is Christopher Brian Bridges, and he’s been living like a bird since growing up, moving from one state to another constantly.

He was an intern at Atlanta’s radio station Hot 97.5 before becoming a DJ there. He attended Georgia State University to study music management in 1998 and simultaneously set up his own record label, Disturbing tha Peace.

His career began with collaborating with Timbaland on “Phat Rabbit”, which became an international hit. Soon after the fact, he released his first studio album, “Incognegro”, hosting his hit debut single, “What's Your Fantasy” peaking at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100. He signed a record deal with Def Jam South not long after the first album and released, “Back for the First Time”.

The album really put him into the limelight as a rapper while it peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200. While his success continues on the musical front, he also flaunts his acting skills in several films and television shows including Fast & Furious sequels, Hustle & Flow, Fear Factor, and more.

He is also a philanthropist who likes to remind the youth they are the world’s future, taking part in a joint effort with Do Better and Better World Books.
